Polls: Anthony Waithaka in The Lead in Makadara MP Race
Nairobi based politician, philanthropist Antony Waithaka is the most preferred candidate in the race for Member of Parliament for Makadara Constituency in Nairobi County.
Anto as he is commonly known is in the lead at 33.5% popularity compared to his closest challenger Benson Mutura who came a distant at 26.2%. Benson Mutura is a former Makadara constituency legislature who is also the Nairobi city county assembly speaker.
This is according to the latest opinion poll conducted in Makadara Constituency by pollsters Mizani Africa.
Current Member of Parliament George Aladwa garnered less than 1% popularity.
Antony Waithaka’s popularity has tremendously grown only 4 months after he declared interest in the City Constituency’s MP seat.
He has previously been popular in sponsoring various community based activities, including CBOs, sports teams and activities and also in kind for the less prevailed in the society through his foundation.
Sources have also confined that the current MP is contemplating throwing his hat in the ring since contesting against Waithaka seems to be a waste of time and resources due to the latter’s popularity in Makadara.
Waithaka has had a great cultivated bond with the Makadara constituents due to his philanthropy activities and the impact it has had on the society.
