Korogocho MCA Matach hails Sakaja's bag of promises
Nairobi, 20th October, 2022: Korogocho ward Member of the County Assembly Absalom Adhiambo has hailed the promises made by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja who, yesterday, held talks with Nairobi City County assembly Members where he promised to revamp service delivery even as he sought the corporation of the MCA’s majority of who are affiliated to the opposition Azimio la Umoja.
According to the Korogocho MCA, popularly known as Matakweyi or Matach, Governor Sakaja has promised to ensure work on the stalled Dandora stadium resume in the next two months as well as scaling up the issuance of bursaries and garbage collection in the city that is chocking under filth.
"The governor is very passionate on service delivery. He has assured us that Dandora stadium will resume in two months. Dandora is next to my ward korogocho and I know this stadium will help our youths in sports develop their talent. This stadium will help youth from not only Dandora but also the surrounding areas like Kariobangi, Baba Dogo, Korogocho and the rest of Eastlands which has no good sports facilities," Matach said.
"By the youth being busy in sports, this will also reduce insecurity which has been a bane to our society for years on end," Matach continued.
The governor has also promised that his administration will issue bursaries without favour. He said that Nairobi county government will as a matter of priority look at garbage collection and arrest offenders.
"Those caught throwing garbage arbitrary will now face arrest as the county government moves to contain the issue of garbage in the city. This issue of garbage collection has been a problem but the governor promised that he is ready for the job," Matach added.
Governor Sakaja has prioritized dialogue with the MCA's as he sets out his agenda of development in Nairobi.
